The gameplay is quite similar to that of the Super Mario Bros. This game can be up to a two player, with the first player controlling Mario and the second player Luigi. The hardest levels are HARD, but that's how they're supposed to be, and I find that very nice.

The easiest levels are pretty basic, and even someone who hasn't played a video game before in their life could probably get a decent way through them. The difficulty level is pretty average in my opinion. So with such a variance, it's hard to get bored of this game. In many of the courses, too, there is more than one way out of them (they all have the traditional completion and some there is a key hidden within the course and you can exit through there as well). There are several different worlds/levels, and many courses within each world. The player controls Yoshi through a series of levels, collecting items and defeating enemies.I have owned this game for 12+ years, and still I enjoy it just as much as when I first got it! The gameplay of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island is similar to that of its predecessor. Yoshi and the other Yoshis must rescue Baby Luigi and return him to his parents. Baby Bowser has kidnapped Baby Luigi and taken him to an island in order to raise him as his own. The story of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island takes place after the events of Super Mario World. The game features a new art style that is heavily influenced by Japanese animation and manga. It is the sequel to Super Mario World and stars Yoshi as the main character. The game was released in Japan in 1995, in North America in 1996, and in Europe in 1997. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island is a platform game developed and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
